The P.T.A. is an integral part of every school. The P.T.A. is a wonderful organization that does unbelievable things for the school, and our children. The PTA consists of teachers and parents who work together raising funds to assist in obtaining needs for the classroom and the children, in addition to providing entertainment with fun events.

But the PTA can't exist without you. We need volunteers, members, and support. With a school of almost 1000 students and many events planned, we need the input and help of parents, like you, who are interested in the PTA.

Have you had an interest in being a school volunteer or joining the PTA but just didn't know how to go about it? I will admit, finding out information on who, what, and where in joining is kind of tough. That's why this page is here; To help you easily and comfortably get involved. Because we know you want to, but don't know how.

Joining the PTA is easy. Membership does not require attending meetings or volunteering, although we certainly are in need. Participating in the PTA is rewarding and fun.The first step of joining the PTA is membership. Membership supports the national PTA and our school activities. You can print this form and return it to school at anytime. In fact, do it now so you don't forget! Next, is come to our open PTA meeting. This is where we get to know you, and everyone plans the upcoming events for the school. The first meeting of the year is just before Parent University on September 12th at 6pm. Parent University starts at 6:30, so come early and check us out! If you will be volunteering at any of our school events, you must first fill out a volunteer application through the school board. It only takes a couple minutes of your time, and it's available online. It's that easy. And if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask one of the Board Members, Mrs. Judy Tarquinio in the office, Mrs. Howe at ASP, or Mrs. Chiet at any time. We all would be glad to help. Welcome!

By joining the PTA, you will be a member of the largest child advocacy network in the United States.You will be supporting your child's school. $2.00 of your membership goes to pay for activities for Horizon's students. The other $3.00 pays for State and National Dues.By joining PTA you will NOT be required to attend any meetings or volunteer for any activities. (Although we encourage parent participation).
